The Internet - praised by many as the place of unlimited freedom - damned by others as consumerist evil and source of political vanity. It becomes motif and medium in one. Information accumulate on the dumps of the global electronic storage. The homo sapiens becomes a homo collectans in an unprecedented way. Saving = Flushing? The separation from one's own production becomes obsolete. All is available immediately in the eternal ether. The limits of the limitedness are drawn up. So much for the situation. The project 'Shit in the Web' is made accessible to the public here for the first time. It has ingrained the archtype of the ordinary reflexive act of the information consumer society - mirrored on the purest physical form. This project wants neither to judge nor to strengthen the existing structures. It rathermore discloses a movement and shall be used to provide realisations and predictions of the HUMAN based on the dual model, which is documented here. Obviously we are in a priviledged position. We argue that every HUMAN should have the possibility to archive his or her individual productions in an independent way. The short-term flush experience must not become a model for the future. Shit in the Web is being created from a group of volontary pioneers, who came together on their own will to form a grassroot democratical structure. We are no political fanatics and belond to no religous group. Nevertheless we have principles. Therefore we decided to disclose the message of the virtual cloaca. The consumption of information and the subjective destruction by scrunching, sucking out, digesting and excreting of information in the daily and hourly clock pulse becomes reflexible. This is a process that affects all of us and we cannot ignore it. Through the reduction to the physicality of our actions we consciously disconnect from the
forced mechanisms of the information society. |
